Our iconic award-winning single malt first introduced in 2021 with the unique six-cask recipe created by Master Distiller, Alasdair Day. The Draam emulates an older style of Hebridean single malt whisky, but has a lighter, fragrant smokiness balanced with rich, dark fruit flavours. Honey gold in colour with hints of red wine hues, this whisky packs a depth of flavour that speaks beyond its years.
And the name? We felt that stereotypical names such as ‘original’ or ‘signature’ didn’t do the liquid justice, and we wanted to bestow a more fitting name with a distinctly Raasay twist. A playful take on the Scottish word for a measure of whisky and our island with many ‘A’s in its name! The same whisky we all know and love has a new identity to define it and help you find it on the back bar.

The Draam is the Isle of Raasay Distillery’s award-winning signature single malt whisky, with a carefully crafted recipe born from our Master Distiller, Alasdair. Two Isle of Raasay spirits – peated and unpeated, are matured separately in American Rye whiskey, fresh Chinkapin oak and first fill Bordeaux red wine casks. Every drop is distilled, matured, bottled and shipped directly from Raasay.
